Reflections on our first Gathering and the power of coming together.
On October 15, 2026, something special happened.
More than 50 practitioners from across the healthcare and wellness community gathered at Sano in Bellevue for the very first event hosted by The Well PNW.
There were familiar faces, new introductions, thoughtful conversations, laughter, and a palpable sense of possibility.
But what made the evening so meaningful wasn't simply the number of people who showed up. It was the reason they (we all) came.
We were looking for connection.
From an Idea to a Community
The Well began with a simple question: What would happen if we brought together people who care deeply about health and healing, but who don't often have the opportunity to sit in the same room?
Our healthcare landscape is filled with talented, dedicated practitioners doing meaningful work. Yet so often, we work in our own offices, within our own specialties, and inside systems that leave little room for genuine collaboration.
We wanted to create something different.
A space where practitioners from different disciplines could learn from one another, share ideas, build relationships, and explore what becomes possible when we stop working in isolation.
And on October 15, we got our first glimpse of what that could look like.
An Evening of Connection and Conversation
We began the evening by slowing down, grounding ourselves, and remembering something that can easily get lost in the work of caring for others: we are human beings first.
Throughout the evening, we explored the importance of caring for the caregiver, the role of community in health, and the ways our relationships shape both our personal well-being and the care we provide.
We were honored to welcome Norman Wu, CEO of Conscious Hospitality Group, who brought his perspective on hospitality, human connection, and the importance of creating spaces where people feel genuinely welcomed.
But some of the most meaningful moments happened between the presentations.
They happened in the conversations around the room. In the introductions between people whose paths might never otherwise have crossed. In the exchange of ideas, experiences, and possibilities.
And perhaps most tellingly, in the number of people who asked, "When is the next one?"
Why Community Matters
We talk a great deal about the importance of community when it comes to our patients and clients. We encourage connection, belonging, support, and meaningful relationships as essential parts of well-being.
But how often do we create those same opportunities for ourselves as practitioners?
The work of caring for others can be deeply rewarding. It can also be isolating and exhausting.
We need spaces where we can be curious, inspired, supported, and reminded that we don't have to figure everything out on our own.
And we need relationships with people who see the world through different lenses, because no single discipline holds every answer.
The future of whole-person care depends not only on what we know individually, but on what we can create together.
This Is Only the Beginning
One of the most encouraging parts of our first Gathering was hearing how much people wanted more.
More opportunities to connect. More conversations across disciplines. More chances to learn from one another and build something meaningful together.
That enthusiasm affirmed what we had hoped from the beginning: there is a real desire for this kind of community.
We're incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us, to Norman Wu for sharing his time and perspective, and to the team at Sano for helping us create such a welcoming space.
And a special thank-you to The Well's Founding Advisor, Bonnie Ginsberg, and our Advisory Team, whose time, energy, and belief in this vision helped bring our first Gathering to life.
The Well was never meant to be a single event.
It's meant to be a growing community of people who believe that healthcare can be more connected, more collaborative, and more human.
Our first Gathering showed us what's possible.
And we're just getting started.
With gratitude,
